Entering the UK
As soon as the employer receives the work permit, he should than send the original Work Permits (UK) letter to the employee in question, The employee will need to have the original to start the processing which is to be carried out before entering the UK. The employee will also have to go through the entry clearance if the work permit is six months long or longer.
Those who are not a "visa national' and have a work permit for less than six months can simply arrive in the UK with such documents as a Work Permit and passport. At the port of entry the immigration officer will grant such persons the entry for the duration of the work permit.
Non visa nationals will have to apply for entry clearance (a work visa) at the nearest British Embassy or Consulate in their home country (or country of normal residence) before traveling to the UK. As candidates on work permits longer than 6 months are able to get free medical treatment from the National Health Service, applications for longer than 6 months will often be lead you to medical examination passing. While visas for less than 6 months can often be issued for 1-2 days, it will take at least 10 working days to prepare a visa for more than 6 months.

Education
The children of citizens that enter the UK as work permit holders are allowed to the same free education as British children. The candidate may choose to send their children to a private school if they so wish.
Health care
This depends on the length of the candidate's permit. If a person enters the UK on a work permit for less than six months, neither they nor their families will usually be covered by the National Health Service. They are not required to take out private health insurance, but it is best to do so.
Where a work permit holder is in the UK on a work permit lasting more than 6 months , they and their family here as their dependants are eligible to free health care provided by the National Health Service.
Work
The spouse of a work permit holder is entitled to take up any lawful employment.
