UK Immigration - UK Au Pair Visa

UK Au Pair Visa

Young single people aged between 17 and 27 with no children can apply to come to the UK to learn to speak English by working for English-speaking families as Au Pair. The Au Pair will be expected to take care of the home and children of the family for who they work and to take English classes for a minimum of twice a week. The family will provide food, accommodation and pocket money.

Nationals from the following European countries qualify for this scheme (*the nationals from those countries must apply for entry clearance from their local British Embassy or Consulate before they intend to enter the UK):
  • Andorra
  • Bosnia-Herzegovina *
  • Bulgaria
  • Croatia *
  • Faroe Islands
  • Greenland
  • Macedonia *
  • Monaco
  • Romania *
  • San Marino
  • Turkey *
Also eligible are the nationals from the whole of EU and Association Agreement.

*The visa must be obtained from your country of residence before entering the UK, they are granted for 2 years.

As nationals from the EEA are free to come to the UK to live and work, they are also allowed to work as Au Pair.

How do I qualify to travel to the UK as an au pair?

You will be asked to prove that you are wishing to come to work in the UK as Au Pair but also that you:
  • Are single in status.
  • Have no dependants.
  • Only plan to work as au pair in the UK for 2 years.
  • Will not claim any help from the Public Funds to support yourself during your stay in the UK.
  • Will be expected to leave the UK once you stop working as an au pair.
Changing host families

As long as you still comply with the requirement of your visa and the Immigration Regulations, you are allowed to work for a different family during your stay.

This type of visa cannot be extended longer than over two years.

Contact us and we will help and represent you during the process of applying for the Au Pair visa.
